Parents:
“Great ideas originate in the muscles.”—Thomas Edison
Raising creative thinkers and passionate learners in today’s increasingly super-scheduled, results-oriented world can be a difficult task. That’s the reason “Ms. Mola’s Make-ola!” was born – to spark kids’ imaginations and practical know-how from a virtual place to explore in their own environment, and to instill a passion for exploration, adventure, problem-solving and creativity through hands-on learning in the arts.
“To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk.”—Thomas Edison
At “Ms. Mola’s Make-ola!” creativity is never limited by supplies on-hand. There are always treasures to be found in the trash, possibilities to be discovered in re-using and re-purposing, and creations to be made in putting together unique combinations of commonly found items.
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions.”—Albert Einstein
Teachers:
“Our task, regarding creativity, is to help children climb their own mountains, as high as possible. No one can do more.”—Loris Malaguzzi
Ms. Mola’s Make-ola! juxtaposes the old with the new in every way to inspire deep learning!
By uniquely combining the best in modern educational research, standards and techniques with the old-fashioned notion that kids must figure out things on their own, Ms. Mola’s Make-ola! walks the creative tightrope of guiding and instructing but never imposing ideas.
Almost an “anti-curriculum curriculum,” Ms. Mola’s Make-ola! provides a non-competitive environment for artistic exploration, weaving in national arts and cultural standards as intriguing backdrops to the main attraction – kids empowering themselves through the thrill of discovery by hands-on exploration in the arts. Kids may never know what “standards” they are learning as they have fun exploring how to make things!
“Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity.”—George S. Patton
Personal development, social interaction, critical thinking and problem-solving skills are at the forefront in all episodes of “Ms. Mola’s Make-ola!” In addition, virtues and personal skills such as patience, cooperation, teamwork, community building, stick-to-it-ive-ness, respect for others and for materials, helpfulness, giving and safety will be emphasized in a positive way.
“If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?”--Albert Einstein
The notion that there are no “wrong” answers when it comes to the creative spirit at Ms. Mola’s Make-ola! feels like a breath of fresh air for kids in our increasingly over-scheduled, over-regulated and over-tested world. “Plan B” is always ready for action at Ms. Mola’s Make-ola! – “mistakes” are merely new opportunities!
“Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.”—Scott Adams

A multi-age cast of kids also gives real-life experience in mentoring and the benefits of learning from all ages.
“No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.”—Albert Einstein
Ms. Mola’s Make-ola! dares to take on pressing issues to help today’s world a better place - encouraging creative artistic solutions through recycling, repurposing, re-using and seeing new possibilities in old things, with the firm belief that today’s small-scale experimenter will be tomorrow’s big-scale problem-solver!
Ms. Mola’s Make-ola! will be creating curriculum and materials for in-school and after-school arts opportunities, with assistance from Educational Consultant, Dr. Sharon Carnahan, Head of the Psychology Department and Child Development and Student Research Center at Rollins College.
